I am very interested in architecture and structure. These pictures are mostly of buildings in London which I have taken on few journeys that I have made. The way I have photographed these pictures were inspired by Allen Klosowski.
I have manipulated them all using Photoshop which allowed me to change the brightness and contrast, levels and curves. On a few pictures I have layered the buildings which looked more structural.
This picture was taken at the Lloyd’s Bank Building in London. This is the interior of the building which I personally find very interesting as it is very repetitive. I edited the image slightly only by layering the same picture to continue the repetition of the lines and lights.
This is the exterior of the Lloyd’s Bank Building. I changed the brightness of the building slightly and again by using the layering idea, I rotated the building layer horizontally and placed it on top.
This building is opposite Liverpool Street Station in London. I used the liquifying filter in order to distort the building which I found quite interesting as it contrasts the whole idea of repetition and structure because after I changed it, there is no structure.
This picture was taken in Liverpool Street Station. Again, the whole idea of structure was taken into consideration whilst taking this picture. The lines work well together, contrasting each other with the thickness and boldness of each piece of metal going across the station. In this picture I just made it black and white to make it easier to observe the contrast between the light and dark areas of the picture.
This is another building on Liverpool Street. I liked the idea of looking at different perspectives of structure. Taking the picture from the side of the building was very interesting as there is more detail of the corners and the exterior shown. I have changed the brightness and contrast in this picture so that some of the picture looked like it had been drawn (this is shown on the right hand side of the picture).
This is another taken from the side of the building looking upwards. It is one of my favourite pictures. The lines are shown more clearly and I like it because I used a filter gallery in order to make it look like it had been drawn using a white chalk.
